Welcome to DC Cues on Tap!

May 28, 2008

Cues on Tap originally began in Boston, MA, as the brainchild of Brad Buran and Tom Shull. Cuers – deaf and hearing alike – would gather together every so often to partake of a few beers and communicate via cued American English. It was a way for deaf cuers in the area to socialize with each other and meet visiting cuers as well as those learning how to cue.

In the summer of 2006, the National Cued Speech Association organized a national conference to mark the 40th Anniversary of the development of Cued Speech. Cues on Tap for the Maryland area was born during that conference.

This site will announce upcoming Cues on Tap events and occasionally post pictures from them. This site will also announce upcoming cueing-related events, sponsored by the Maryland Cued Speech Association and the Northern Virginia Cued Speech Association.

Welcome! And I hope to see you all at future cueing events.
